Hi everyone, I would like to share my new find with you guys and would love to hear your opinion. Here is what I think about it: Reference 2869 SC 4 Dial looks original to me, bubbled like all Seamasters do. Not sure about hands and what happened to the lume (why it's turned out black). Case is unpolished with some scratches from animals tried to open it with pry bar or something. Crown seems to be original. Crystal looks OK, but has no Omega logo. Movement Omega call. 500 fits the deal, need to be serviced, because rotor is started touching the case back. This watch is probably from 1957.Looks like it has been serviced back in 1965 (according to the scratched date on the inside of the case back.) And of course some pictures : As always, thanks in advance for your valuable input. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk
Is there any lume on the dial at all? If not, the hands might just have black inlay. Lume can easily turn black from moisture, however.
I've actually seen some watches out there, with the different crown, but it was a little bit different reference number. Thanks for an input though. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk
I could be wrong, but it looks like it has a connie crown, I know some of these reference have come with this type of crown but I think those are flatter than the one on this watch (at least from what I can see in the pictures)
Didn't even look at the crown - it's clearly for a fifties/very early sixties Constellation... I've actually just bought one for my 2852, otherwise I'd sent you an offer
Since, I didn't decide what to do with it yet, looks like it would be a flipper)))) I've seen so many seamastres out there with the same crown, so I didn't even payed attention to it. Thanks guys for replying to this thread. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk
Is it possible that the Connie crown was also used for some Seamasters, or was that a Connie only part?
That was my question also). When you put ref 2852 in the Google search, you would find most of the Connies with crown like I have. However, I found few connies with the crown that belongs to my seamaster. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk
The Connie+Clover (Seamaster) crown debate will linger on But the consensus is that although appear in Connie adverts (generally hand drawn) they are replacements Possibly because the Connie crowns are bugger to use
