Seamaster advice

Hi I am new to the forum I have a Omega Seamaster 166 0207 cal 366 0843 1973 vintage. What I am wondering did they make a quartz version of this watch or is there a quartz movement omega / eta or other that will fit this watch. I know it’s a wrong thing to do but it would be ideal for me at the moment. If anybody has any ideas I would appreciate it.

Buy a cheap quartz. It will likely save you money and not screw up a perfectly good watch.

Why take a $400 watch and turn it into a $50 watch?

(and I'm being generous with the $50)

Paid £400 from reputable dealer??? Now gone out of business utterly unreliable time keeper £450 to get it serviced probably plus any parts totally outstrips the value might as well make the best of a bad job until I can get the movement sorted at a later date

If you're paying someone 400 pounds to have that serviced, unless it's a mess inside, I hope you're getting a kiss, too.

Get it serviced by a decent local watchmaker who understands vintage Omega. It should cost a lot less than £400 and should mean that you can wear your watch daily if you choose (though be careful of moisture and getting it wet generally). If it doesn’t meet what you’re looking for in terms of timing, then a daily quartz will fit the bill and the Seamaster can come out when you want something a bit more special on the wrist.
