    1st time post...

Hello all. I've spent the past few months deciding on a new watch for a birthday gift to myself. I've decided on a new(ish) Seamaster Pro 300 blue or black, 212.30.41.20.01.00X. Given the huge depreciation on new versions, seems like lightly used is the way to go.

I'm trying to educate myself on spotting fakes before I buy. This 2531.80 is beautiful, but looks like it could be a fake to me. I'll post a pic rather than a link so as not to slander the seller if it's real. Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

    -Jon

What makes you think it may be fake?

The luminous dot on the bezel doesn't look centered.

It's not a 212.30.41.20.01.00, it's a 2531.80 (slight differences) and from the photo I can see nothing to suggest that it's a fake.

If you are really concerned, ask the seller to send a photo of the movement. That's really the only way to be 100% sure.

I can only see them on the edges. Apart form that it looks legit. Ask for a pic of the movement.

    my eyes must be tired.
the movement is based on a 2892 so it's easier to change some parts id needed. but some bridges are cut differently. The blanace cock for example.

What are you getting at? Yes the 1120 is based on an ETA 2892A2, however there are a lot of parts that can't be swapped between the 2 movements. Not sure what that has to do with the watch being authentic...
