Seamaster 600??

I picked up this Seamaster 600 about a year ago and had a couple questions that I'm sure a few of you might know the answer to. The case and movement serial put the watch as a seamaster 600 but the watch isn't marked anywhere as such. Did Omega make a "poor mans" model so to speak? I know some other companies throughout that timeframe had made unmarked items to make it a little cheaper for the "everyday" person.
Thanks in advance!

How does the movement serial it it as a Seamaster 600?

is the case ref something like 136.011? But yes Omega did use the same reference number with different dial types. For example a 136.011 case reference can be found with Seamaster, Seamaster 600 and un-named dials.

The case is 136.011, I will have to get back to you on the actual serial number but, the movement is the 611 which is in the Seamaster 600. I had it serviced and all indicated it as the Seamaster but no visual markings.
Just curious if its just an un marked Seamaster or actually something different.

The only thing that makes a Seamaster a Seamaster is when Omega decides to write it on the dial. Assuming your dial is original, it’s not a Seamaster as it doesn’t say so on the dial.

Nevertheless as above, this reference was used for both Seamasters and non Seamasters with the only difference being the text on the dial. The Seamaster versions weren’t more water resistant, accurate etc.

So if that is the case then what would the model of my watch be? Just an Omega watch? I am not saying I ever will but from what you're saying all that would be need for this watch to actually be a seamaster is to get the caseback and dial that would designate it to be one? The movement and case isn't indication of that?

Yours is a 'no name' Omega watch. Not uncommon from that era.

In theory you could buy a new dial that reads Seamaster but why bother? It will add minimal value and ruin the originality of your watch.

The other thing to note is that a Seamaster or Seamaster 600 will likely be noted as such in the archives at Omega. It's unlikely to be a problem but if you ever sold it as a Seamaster and the buyer requested an extract, it may raise questions when it doesn't say Seamaster.

I'm not saying I ever would change anything on it. Just trying to get clarification I guess on the differences or why if it has the seamster case and movement it just would not be a "no name" seamaster. One thing I will reference, since I somewhat collect cast iron as well is that if there was a no name item it was made in the same foundry by the same people and be exactly the same but, un marked and sold as a cheaper unit for the folks who couldn't afford the name.
Would that same scenario apply to this watch? Just trying to get some clarification for the watch.
Thanks!

Different dials for different markets. This reference can also be found marked Genève and Seamaster Genève.
