That looks very nice and original to my eye but I still have a lot to learn.

    Hi Jon,

Great watch. Looks great. Does the seller provides a extract of the archives?

    Welcome to the club!

Very nice and clean looking watch, congrats!

As per the Archives question, it is an Extract of the Archives document given by Omega (needs to be requested/paid service) that could give you among other information, a production and shipping date, as well as the country it was originally shipped to.

I guess to be 100% it is from year 1966 as stated. Movement reference number are often indicatives.

    Here

I have personally never used the service, so I can't give any feedback (good or bad) on it. Maybe others here could do so.

It looks something like this. But mind you, it could be a dissapointment. Maybe the watch is from another year then your birthyear. I just wanted to let you know a 23xxx serial is not always from 1966. If the seller claimed this he misinformed you. But it's a lovely watch and that's the most important thing.

Yes. IMHO it's better to leave it and enjoy your watch as is.

I asked the seller how we know its a 66 without extract and he replied with the following:

"We know it's a 1966 by the Serial Numbers on the movement which are in the 23,200,000 range. Omega released their serial numbers to the public at some point.
    23,000,000 – 23,999,999 1966
Judging by the serial number I would say its early 1966"
