Seamaster 300M Clasp Jam [HELP!]

Well folks, it appears I too have fallen victim to the 'Great Seamaster Bracelet Jam', but in my case, it was stuck on my wrist and not letting go. I'm sure you can all appreciate how infuriating this is on a watch that's just over a year old. It was so bad that the only choice I had was to start taking out screws and pins.

So, here I am. Having had to disassemble the latch to get the watch off my wrist, I'm now faced with how to reassemble. I happen to have an ultrasonic cleaner from back in the day when I took the TimeZone Watch School courses, so the mechanism has been pretty well cleared of any grime. I just need your input on how this all goes back together.

Hope one of you can lend a hand.

Thanks in advance!

Good luck on the reassembly. But I wonder why you didn’t just unscrew a link to separate the bracelet instead of taking apart the entire clasp in order to get it off?

Frankly, I wouldn’t try to put it together, but reach out to Omega and see if they would give you a new clasp under warranty. You might have a harder case because you took it apart, it I think with the story it was stuck on your wrist and you were desperate, they should give you a new clasp.

You took apart the entire clasp assembly… while the watch was on wrist (so you one-handed it), and it didn’t occur to you to simple unscrew a link?

I have no idea how to reassemble it, and I doubt Omega will grant you a warranty claim on this.

My advice would be to work backwards. If that fails, take it to a service center. If that fails, take it to an independent watchmaker. If that fails, buy a rubber strap!
