I recently purchased a 2254.50 on this forum from Kringkily. It was a great transaction and I am very pleased with the watch. It is now in my regular rotation. I recently came across a similar watch - the 2054.50. In looking up both pieces on the Omega Watchfinder site, all the features seem to be identical except the 2054 is 41.5mm and the 2254 is 41mm. Also, the 2054 has the newer style bracelet. It appears to me that the 2054 is a newer version of the same watch because of the newer style bracelet. But I am at a loss to explain the .5mm increase in case size, especially given that both use the same movement - the 1120.

Is the Omega site incorrect on the case size? Does someone here have a 2054 that they can measure to confirm it is 41.5?

    Pete

    Here's a pic.

Many articles and web postings talk about the difference between these two reference numbers. All come to the same conclusion that the bracelet is the only difference. No one mentions the difference in case size. Perhaps .5mm is an immaterial difference?

The only difference between the two is the bracelet.
The 2054 has the Bond style bracelet, the 2254 has the speedmaster style bracelet.
    Otherwise they are identical.

There is no difference in the watch head, so they both use the same case reference, dial, hands, movement. As noted only the bracelet is different.

As above. Technically, the Bond style bracelet on the 2054.50, is the older style since it was introduced in around 1993 on the original skeleton hands Bond SMP. The 2254.50 bracelet is known as the Speedy style by some and was introduced around 1997 along with the sword hands SMPs just after the Speedmaster moved over to the 3570.50 variant and utilised a superficially similar but not identical bracelet. AFAIK, in the UK the steel/steel sword hands models weren't available on the Bond bracelet (other than the black dial GMT and America's cup LE) and but I know that both bracelets were offered in the USA and Asia. I am happy to be corrected though since there were dozens of SMP variants introduced between 1997-2000.

I've had the 2054. The only difference is that mine had the Bond style bracelet in stead of the Peedy like bracelet.
