Did a small test today. Figured it would be fun to see if a 1998/849 Speedmaster bracelet would fit my 300 replacement case (called it "Watchco" in the title but was built here in Sweden more than 10 years ago).

The bracelet is original to my Speedyorite. Mesh was taken off for the test.

And it fit like a glove. Perfect fit to the case - no play and sits neatly.

Taken it off again - it was just to see if it would work.

Most bracelets that fit “most” speedy’s fit the watchco. I’ve read (by some on this forum, so grain of salt) that bracelets meant for the 1861 or FOIS have their holes in a slightly different place and some bracelets can rub the case.

My Uncle seiko Holzer (meant for Speedy) lives permanently on my watchco

But I’ve tried the US flatlink as well which looks equally smart, but I preferred the Holzer.

On mesh

Most of the time is spent on a Tropic-style rubber though - doing what it is meant for.

Good to know. My Watchco is currently on a 1171/1 that’s (of course) a link tight. I have a spare US Holzer, so I may go that route while I dig up a 1171 link.
