    Hello,

This is my first luxury watch purchase and I have an offer for a slightly used Seamaster 300 Pro purchased in October 2016. The asking price is $3000. I need your help to decide by answering my inquiries below:
    - Is the rubber strap durable enough? And what is the average price for the original steel band?
    - What is the fair price and what is the resale value of this particular model?

Thanks in advance for your help
    Karim

A new bracelet will run you around six to seven hundred dollars. You can buy one of these, new, on the gray market for about $3,900.

Em, what is this? A sword hand chrono Seamaster from last year? What's the reference? Fully prepared to be corrected, but I think this is a total fake.

    Close...on the strap it's actually a 28945291...

    Consider yourself corrected. ;)

I do. I've donned my sackcloth underpants and shall flail myself this evening, à la The Da Vinci Code. :( It was the "purchased in 2016" bit that threw me. A quick Google tells me that this watch was new at least 10 years ago, and can be found for way under $3000...

Please no flogging on my behalf - maybe doing that Google search before you declare someone's watch a fake next time would be good though...:)

Seriously though, the Omega world is vast and varied, so over the years they have made thousands and thousands of different models. I don't think anyone knows them all, with all the editions made for different markets, etc. For example if I look up the Cal. 1152 movement (based on the ETA 7750) on the Omega Extranet, there are about 200 individual models that Omega made with that specific movement, then another 170 or so with the 1151, and on and on...the list seems endless.
