Hi all. Long time lurker first time poster. I recently bought my first Omega (Seamaster 300M Diver) and have caught the Omega bug. Looking to add my next piece to my collection and having a hard time deciding between a Seamaster 300 (233.30.41.21.01.001) and a Speedy Moonwatch (311.30.42.30.01.006). I know I will likely own both one day but currently it is an either or. Any thoughts from the forum on which watch and why? My only pause is the manual wind on the Speedy but only because it won't be my daily wear.

    Obviously, whichever you like best.

My vote would be moonwatch since you already have a diver, but between these two I prefer the master coax 300.
It has a more accurate, and antimagnetic calibre. Don't love no date and polished center links.

Moonwatch is iconic and a chronograph, but manual wind bugs me too. That said, many who have it love it precisely because of that "relationship" with the watch.

If you don't wear it every day manual wind is a lot better imho.

I'd be partial to the 300. Then again, I don't wear manuals.

Since you mentioned you already have the 300m, I would first buy the Speedmaster, and the SM300 after

Buy both and sell your SMP 300M

Since your plan is to get both. Get the SM300 MC first. And then the Speedmaster. As the Speedmaster design is unlikely to change anytime soon.

    This!

But if you had to have just one, it would be the speedy pro hands down!

I have both the Diver and the SM300. I'm planning to get a Moonwatch next - but I think I bought them in the right order. The two dive watches are sufficiently different that you'll give each one a lot of wrist time.

Yeah but then I would have to buy it again at some point lol I have wanted an SMP300M since Goldeneye and I love the watch.

Thanks for that. Yeah i think the SM300 Master and the SMP300M are different enough to warrant owning both.

Excellent point. The Speedy doesn't seem to change very much.

Or get the Speedy first because it doesn't change, and reap the benefits of depreciation on the SM300 MC.

You can get the SM300 from a trusted seller on the grey market for around $4K right now, a lot less than the MSRP of $6,600. I bought mine from Serge, who sells here and online at chitownwatch.com. Take a look at his website - he may have one in stock.

(Of course, he also usually has the Moonwatch in stock at a good price as well.)

Do you have a budget ?Because the grey side of the moon or dark side is a great daily watch...Also u can get reduced or racing automatic as well...

Moonwatch is a evergreen classic and you should buy it if you like chrono watches.
