To me it was the complete opposite. I think it's an amazingly photogenic watch and loved it. I reserved one and even got my wife to agree it was a " different" watch and great buy. Then I went to the store and tried iit on and just couldn't like it enough. It was a weird thing and I may try again at some point or trade in another watch but right now i dont quite love it. It's beautiful but I would rather it be a little more genuine and less gimmicky. I rather get an actual vintage one... Or a rail master once it comes out if they don't mess it up.

I know what you mean. I struggle with Speedy's. I like them but not enough to buy one. I like the one with the yellow face and gold bezel. I have an orange Planet Ocean too. Maybe I like bling or something...... Is that a flaw? If so I'm over it. The more I wear my SM300'the more I like it

Not a flaw!!! It's a fine watch and you should never apologize for liking what you have or better yet, having what you like.

Thanks for all of the comments about the watch as well as the bracelet. When I made the decision about getting back into watches recently, I realized that I would not be able to get back into the hobby at the same level I was before. Years ago, I had a collection of many watches which included many sports watches as well as dress watches. Sports watches had included Omega, Rolex, Tissot, UN,Stowa, and Sinn. Dress watches had included UN, A. Lange & Sohne, Glashutte Original, Omega, and Tissot. At 61, I find myself downsizing in all parts of my life but I missed the art of the watch and the appreciation that I felt for fine mechanical watches. So to make a long story short, I will be getting back into the hobby with a much more limited collection. There is a lot of room between having 10 high quality pieces (hard to find wear time) and one old Hamilton Khaki Mechanical that I have worn for the last 4-5 years.

I went with the Omega Seamaster 300 Co-Axial because it met more of my needs than the other watches I thought about. Divers watches have always been my favorite and the look of the Seamaster 300 was one that I was always attracted to. The size is just about perfect and the look of the dial is just beautifully balanced. The lack of a date wheel gives the dial that full feeling of balance.

I will not be buying another another watch anytime soon but I will say that the Omega Planet Ocean GMT Goodplanet is very attractive to me. Again, thanks for all the comments. Stephen

Such a lovely watch, and one that you could wear with the abandon you could not with vintage.

I prefer brushed links, but when i get one of these, it will probably live on a NATO strap anyway.

I think your watch is one of the few modern watches that I would like to own, I have a vintage models on my list that I want to get, I am only a teacher so have to limit my watch addiction, but one day I am going to get me one of these. The middle links will have to be like yours

I am up in Massachusetts myself and have gone to the OB you are referencing. Let me know if you would like to further discuss the watch or if I can help in any way. Stephen
