    Hey guys,

Just wondering what you thought about this seamster 300?

It looks ok to my eyes, the lume is a nice colour (a lot yellower than my current Seamaster 300). The bezel is a bit worn, maybe LewisWatchCo can work his magic like i have seen on his latest patina'd WatchCo.

The only thing that concerns me is the lack of 'PinHoles' at 6 and 12, as I have read that can point towards a re-dial? - or am I mistaken.

    Thanks,
    Ed

I´ve seen several baton hand-300´s with similar dials. Im betting the caseback is stamped -64? :)

I think the caseback is stamped 165.024 @virro

Just was wondering as my current SM300 is a 165.024-64, similar serial number but has pin holes. However the lume is a greeney colour so maybe a different batch/manufacturer

Ah! Mine is stamped 165.024-64 with similar SN (23 7xx xxx). Mine might have pin hole at 12, but it is hard to see.

I asked a resident expert on this one, the case back doesn’t make sense with the serial number. Either changed at service or put together.

What kind of caseback would be expected on this?

    Hi Ed,

Here's my big triangle SM300 with extract, pin dot at 6 is clear and correct, think the one you posted has had some lume added! 2016-11-08 11.12.39.jpg 2016-11-08 11.12.59.jpg

    Nice!

    Thanks for the photo mate.

I think if I can get the price down, the added lume may not be as off putting :)

How do you tell the differences in the casebacks? - just by the internal stamps, or are there other differences?

Would you guys pull the trigger at around 5000 usd? Apparently the sellers lowest figure.

    Cheers!

    That looks good to me.
Regarding the price I think that is ok, in fact good.
I have just seen one in Italy a little better than yours BUT €14300 -$20000 Aud !
I attach mine just for comparison and I paid $9k Aud a year ago, which was a bargain imho.
And yes LewisWatco can fix the lume if needed, even on the bezel (which no one else an do).
Be brave and best of luck. 20170907_072359.jpg 20170907_072359.jpg

From what I know, most D-type "open 5" bezel were on CB cases...

Looks pretty good to me Ed apart from the bezel

Price is good too, these will only keep going up in value

Bought mine just over a year ago for 5k aud for a comparison IMG_20170329_151733_705.jpg

The hands have been poorly relumed obviously
