Just finished my 6th SM300 build, could be one of my last as the supply of parts is to be stopped by the Swatch group, I love these watches and in my collection I have a 166.0324 a 165.0324 and a vintage 166.024. id love to hear other peoples thoughts on these NOS versions vs the Vintage I think both have their pros and cons, lets see some pics :) 1.jpg 8.jpg IMG_8811.jpg 1.jpg 1.jpg

I love these watches, I'm jealous! I'm familiar with the 166.024 but never heard of the 166.0324. What are the differences?

    Regards,
    Lou

166.0324 is the case number in the new replacement cases from Omega.
166.024 is the original case number on the vintage ones.

A friend of mine borrowed me his vintage SM300 so I got the chance to wear it for a week. It's a great watch and wear very comfortable.

If I were to choose between the vintage model and the NOS built ones, I think I would first go for the vintage one. After a I while I would probably also get the NOS one, and keep that as a daily beater.

I build these often - I suspect I will continue to do so as they are quite popular. I had 2 requests come in for making these just yesterday alone....

No...I expect I will be able to purchase these well into the future. It is only the third party distribution that is being cut off, so the resellers like Cousins, Otto Frei, Perrin, etc. and not watchmakers who have Swatch group parts accounts.
