    Hippocampus is from circa 1958. Dial is refinished and watch may be frankened with earlier 471 movement. Regardless too many suspicious aspects.

    Case body plus crown and movement look original for a SM olympic (Melbourne), but the case back does not match - should have the Olympic cross emblem! Dial is similar with the coffin markers but misses the applied golden "XVI" - seems to be a franken...
    I will gladly stand corrected if somebody has better knowledge.

    The OVD mentions that the 2984 holds a cal. 501 with this sample as reference. The case on sale is sadly extremely polished, killing the sharp edges on those unique lugs:

    Either a Ref. 2850 with wrong case back and dial or a Ref. 2984 with wrong movement ...
