Good morning members, I have to admit , maybe with some embarrassment here, the rookie mistakes I made in collecting ,back like 20 some years ago , I had little or not much knowledge about, dials , movements , reference numbers , the just got into collecting mode , would buy anything that had 321 , 30t2rg especially, most I purchased on eBay, from all over the world 馃槉馃檭 back then there was no authentication offered , so after receiving the watches , i noticed some imperfections , some even substantial , but I kept them anyways ,only wishing I was on this forum decades ago asking for advise and opinion before committing to purchase , ok that鈥檚 water under the bridge now ,my advise now and it is only MHO, for all the new not knowledgeable want to be collectors , do your do diligent , research and especially engage with forums like OF, i can鈥檛 thank you guys enough for all your attention , help and advice, here is my another one, a mistake ?? has many issues , but has the 321 inside haha, and is 14k gold, paid $2400 for it like 16 years ago, please see the pics and let me know if it鈥檚 really bad example of my naive collecting decisions , thank you , good day , regards to all , 馃鉂わ笍鈾庯笍kazd

Repainted dial for sure, soft case, but it is what it is. $2,400 is fine if that is what you paid today, but certainly not if that was paid 20 years ago.

Hello and thank you for your reply assessment, opinion, yes this seamaster is a little disaster , but I鈥檓 in love with the 321s , it was the motivation to get it, back 20 years ago it was chunk of money $2400 for it, but in today market just the 14k case would bring about $1800-2000, movement? even if I strip it for parts , not sure would fetch few thousand , not sure if my contemplation is right on this so, please correct me , thank you again , much appreciated, good day , kazd 馃鉂わ笍鈾庯笍

Not even a close call on that dial.
Hello thanks , yes the dial is the main disastrous culprit on this watch , I don鈥檛 think I can find replacement for this , even if would be probably fortune, thinking , with decent dial this one is probably worth few dollars ? or I鈥檒l just start wearing not worrying , it is time to start enjoying the collection one by one , thank you again , good day, kazd鉂わ笍鈾庯笍

For a watch like this, the dial, case, and hands usually drive the value more than the movement does.

Something I got in the early days of collecting. 18k case with an heavy aftermarket bracelet that happened to also be in 18k gold (which may now be worth more than the watch!).

Good morning, Ah this is superb watch in excellent condition, mine is the same ref# but unfortunately the dial is butchered by someone before I got it, one subdial hand isn鈥檛 correct and the pusher caps have the gold plating worn out, the case itself is in great condition, I paid $2400 for it long time ago, but with todays gold prices plus the movement and stuff , I would probably get my money back ,? by the way , I visited the gold buying place this morning , I go there frequently, hunting for movements , she had this gorgeous ladies gold watch , and said she is melting it, do she let me remove the movement gently , and that鈥檚 whats left from it, paid $10 g ft or omega 1100 with pristine dial and hands and crystal, such a sad think , she said they the values of the metal exceeds value of the watch ,good day , kazd,
