I picked this piece up a few weeks ago, and finally got around to sizing the bracelet and giving it a good clean! (the bezel rotates now :) )

It is a well worn watch, with definite wabi-sabi, but I really like the tritium patina! I think i'm going to wear it for a while to see if it 'clicks', and if not maybe move it on.

A real beauty - clearly an experienced veteran of the wrist wars! A lot of character on that one.

I'm finding I don't wear this enough and may move it along. If I were to sell this watch either on OF or locally, should I have it serviced prior, or just deduct an amount from the sale price?

In my (limited) experience selling watches, if someone from here is buying it they would want their own watch maker to service it. If selling otherwise, I wouldn't bother as you rarely recoup the service price.

I agree that servicing it is probably not needed but maybe consider replacing the bezel. While it may not bring a large ROI, but even if it's a break-even it might help move the piece faster.

"recently serviced" is likely to help the watch sell faster, but I think it's a crap shoot when it comes to recovering the cost of service. It might be worth picking up a replacement bezel if you can find one that's not too expensive and including it in the sale, might help it go for a slightly higher price.

Looks well loved. Used to have one just like that until it was crowded out of my watch box

Servicing wouldn't be worth it in this case. A prospective buyer could well feel that it ought to be refurbished and a service not including this would be wasted - and the opposite is just as true; getting a full service w/ refurbishing (expensive...) will ruin the appeal for a lot of people.

It'll be interesting to see how you'd price this :)

If I were to buy it :whistling:, I'd get the movement serviced, but leave the rest as is. It's got a unique beauty from its travels.

You may want to find out how to go about getting it listed here ... I don't know the fine print on the rules, but the mods may be cool with it. Can't hurt to ask.

Ouch! That looks like it's pretty beat up and 2-3 times it actual age.

    Yeah

Back in 2009 I wacked into the water cooler at work and in 2012 the automatic door at the super
Market slammed into me and just last year I stumbled home drunk and woke up with a dent in the bezel! Man who knows how!?!

Looks like it was beat to hell and I hate it.

I should offer a service, give me $200 and I'll beat up your watch for you.

That's pretty much how I'd expect a watch worn by James Bond to actually look....:)
