Hi All,

Looking to buy this 2264.50 and would like a little feedback on any obvious red flags. Seller is a jewelry/ gold shop and have had the battery replaced by their watchmaker. Only thing that has me wondering is the white date wheel. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Looks like a solid beater/ daily driver.

Don.

Hmmm….. lume plot at 3pm looks to be the wrong shape for the 2264 dial. Shortened and asymmetrical vs the 9 plot as on the 2254…. Could be a red herring

That's not a 2264.50. It looks like a 2262.50, which has a case diameter of 36.25mm. The 2264.50 has a case diameter of 41mm.

Also, the white date wheel suggest the movement has been swapped out--possibly with a non-Omega movement. The date wheel should be black. But most non-Omega replacement movements you see out there have a white date wheel. I don't recall the exact model number but ETA makes movements that can easily be swapped with the Omega 1538.

Thanks for the advice, on the fence now... quite like the idea of a slightly smaller diver and the asking price is 1250 euros....

You're free to buy what you want, but please know that this model wears really small. I like smaller watches and I bought the Bond SMP in this size and could not wear it. The dial size is tiny. I think anyone who wears it should have a wrist size under 6.5 inches/16.5cm. My wrist size is 6.9 inches/17.5cm and it looked puny on my wrist.

I owned a 37mm Tudor Black Bay 54 and it wore much larger. I ended up selling it, but not because of the size.

Also know that it likely has a non-Omega ETA movement in it. From a functionality standpoint it's not an issue, but the value of the watch should be substantially reduced. And some people would not buy the watch at any price due to the (likely) aftermarket movement. It is possible that someone took a donor Omega 1538 movement from another watch (with a white date wheel) and dropped it in, but it's more likely someone used an ETA 255.461.

If Speedmasters and Rolex GMT's have fit you perfectly I definitely would not suggest the 36.25mm Seamaster for you. And if you were still interested I certainly would not recommend buying without trying it on first.
