The dial appears to have lovely patina – interested to know whether it has been refinished? To my inexpert eye the case doesn't feel over polished but again I'd be interested to hear your thoughts. Any other observations greatly appreciated. I'm looking to pick the up for about $600 US, does that sound like a good buy? Reference 2846-2848 3 SC Caliber 500 Many thanks!
Looks like a lovely example of seamaster from the 50s. It has some corrosion in the hands and back of the case but looks good otherwise. Has been likely polished in the past, but not too much and the dial looks original and with a nice and even patina. You should consider the cost of service and try (if you can) to lower the price a bit.
OK doesn't sound good! Any thoughts on the one below? Omega seamaster 600 135.011 calibre 601. Couldn't get much info on it but looks to be original dial and case not polished. Comes in around $390 US. Thanks again
For the first watch, It needs servicing as the gasket is gone. With the missing bezel, you can definitely pass on it. You can't find a spare one lying around. Also, the springbar+leather strap hole combination bothers me so much.
