Other members of this forum will know more than I do, but Simon Freese would be a safe watchmaker to ask.
I also recommend!

Please do not have the dial touched up or the watch polished! it would take away all its patina, its experience, everything that makes its charm and attaches it to your father

Hi,
Just to update you, the watch has now been serviced by Simon Freese who kindly took some photos for me revealing the model, serial number etc, see attached.

Very happy that the watch is now working and looking much more respectable!

Fabulous story and great outcome. That crème brûlée patina makes it uniquely yours and wears its sentimental value proudly. Really enjoyed reading this!

I don't normally like omega watches with a lot of dial discourloration but this one looks really stunning when serviced and cleaned. Very nice.

I love this too. How the dial has aged but the stainless steel looks in great nick.
