    Hello everyone,
Just got this watch from a friend but couldn't find much info online or vintage omega database. Found a few in Japanese websites, is it a Japanese version Seamaster? Anyone has any info on this Seamaster please :)
    Regards,
    KO

The OP's watch doesn't look gold capped. I think the number is 165.011 not 166.011, either way I cant find it in the OVDB.

Not quit sure if this is the same watch, as my back cap say 166.011?

As mentioned came closest in a wildcard search, OVdb doesn't list every metal produced nor every variant but seemed close . . .

Agreed, third digit on OPs watch looks more like a 5 than a 6.

Ref 166.(0)010 is a different case, the lugs have a distinct taper and the bezel is beveled not flat.

Here's my 166.0010 which shows the tapered bezel and different shaped lugs.

I've just got something similar with 166.010 SP stamped inside the case back, with a 565 dating from around 1968/9. Problem is it's lacking its bezel and I'm having problems locating a replacement as it is formally discontinued.
Don't suppose you have any ideas where I could get one?
    Any help greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Unfortunately no, sorry. You could try an Omega repair centre and see if they would supply and fit one as they may be available direct but not at Cousins, Ofrei etc.

Thanks for the prompt reply - I've actually got a call in with Omega at the moment, have supplied photos and so hopefully they'll be able to help.
    Thanks again.

Well Omega say they can't help so I guess I'll have to revert to that well known auction site. There are 4 or 5 Omega bezels showing at the moment from a guy in Portugal but without any reference numbers and as such I'm blind as to whether they are correct or not.
Don't suppose anybody out there has dimensions for the bezel for a 166.010 seamaster case so that I know exactly what I'm looking for.
    Any help much appreciated.
    Thanks

Fortuitously, I'm wearing this watch at the moment and my vernier is close to hand.

Outer diameter is 34.94 mm, likely 35 as designed.
Inner diameter at crystal is 30.76 mm
    Height is 1.9 mm

Without taking the bezel off, which would mean removing the crystal so I can refit it, that's the best I can do. The outer diameter should be good but the inner and height are not easy to measure on the watch. If you look at my picture close to the crown you'll see that about 20% of the bezel is constant at the outer diameter and then it chamfers off to the inner.

    Good luck, Chris

    Excellent, thanks.

I'll let you know how I get on.....have a feeling it may take a while, but that's half the fun - (isn't it?)

    Thanks again.

    Best wishes

It's an old thread but rather than starting a new one, I thought it's better to reply here as it is about the same topic.

I also got an 166.011 and also from Japan. Were they made only for that market or do they also appear in European or American catalogues?

Attached a few photos of mine.
