·I have an opportunity to buy this SM 300. I've posted a few questions previously and this is what I know about the watch.
Obviously the hands are not original, but the originals are still with the watchmaker as I just found out, but need relume but the seconds hand is MIA.
The dial is original and nice except for the lume has been worn/ cleaned off. But it still looks good as is. Hence my relume question in my other post.
It's a USA model with a recently serviced 550 movement with a 241 mil serial number dating it to late 1966. The original bezel/insert was damaged and has since been replaced with a later 69 era genuine one . It has a genuine Omega replacement crown.
The crystal is a genuine, as is the case and caseback. The lugs have not been polished and show honest age, but the original back has been polished. It's an HS case.
Priced around $3500usd as is.
What are people's thoughts.
I can live with the bezel because it's nice, but will need to deal with hands for sure at a relume cost of a couple hundred dollars.
I know it's subjective, but could any of you experienced collectors share some constructive viewpoints on this please. I'm a novice collector so go easy on me.
