Hi friends,

looking all the time for a birthyear 1963 watch. Now got offered a Seamaster 165.014 without certificate but a serial# starting at 203...Do you think it is really a 63 or is it a 64? The bezel is a spare and I have doubts about the second hand. Price is at the lower side. What do you think about this watch?

I cannot help with this whatsoever but I did stop in to say, 1963 -- I approve, same year of birth here too.

Looking at the dial: the ereas around the hour indices look to me like the dial has been relumed

Pinholes at 6 and 12 on a -63?

THX! Yes I think as well it is relumed. The color is way too nice and there is abrasion visible arround the indices.

We have to work with the fotos given by the seller...me too. What would be a fair price for both sides?

20.3 serial is early 1964.
The bezel is not original. Looks like an aftermarket metal insert.
Sweep hand not original.
Dial lume cannot be determined based on these pictures.

Here's a perfect one from the same serial range for comparison.

Thank you all for your great help! Havn't bought this watch an look further.

@ndgal: special thx for the info about #203.... Do you think all 203 are made in 64, so I need to have a look to max serial# 202?
