Hi all, I've been bitten by a vintage diver bug and am hooked on picking up a Seamaster 300. Not sure yet which reference I ultimately want, which is okay as it looks like this might be a long search! I did come across this 165.014 and it looks to be a certainly worn, but decent example to my eyes. However, I have a very limited knowledge in these Seamasters and I'd love to get some of the more experienced opinions on it. Also, in the limited samples I've been able to find online, I can't get a good feel for what something like this is worth? Any input would be greatly appreciated! thanks!

A nice clean well used example. The dial and hands are original with a lovely honey patina, the case looks good, there appears to be no corrosion on the case that I can see and the bezel is original, although should some wear around the numbers.

Price wise, it's been a while since I sold a 165014, from recollection the last one I sold was a minty example with complete and original bezel and I believe I sold it for a lick over £2K

 

I've seen this one for sale. The seller wants A LOT for it, especially considering the condition. Something weird on the dial.

The spotting on the dial seems pretty normal to me? Yup, he definitely was/is asking a good chunk of change. Not having many similar watches to judge this by makes it hard (for me) to figure out if he's asking too much or waaaay too much haha
