    Hi everyone!
This one was around sometime last year and has come up for sale again!

    Original dial with some patina.
Seller tells me the crystal is original omega signed which is a bonus!

The crown is a replacement (actually Universal Geneve signed but looks quite similar to the original omega one for this model).

Case looks ok -opinions most welcome!

Inside case back has 14700 and 14701 stamped on it (meaning 14700 case with 14701 dial, already discussed previously)

Movement is cal 562 ,19mil serial number (1962)
Seller says was serviced, keeping excellent time and has 40hr power reserve. (gasket not replaced at service?)

    Being offered at $340.
I think it is a nice honest piece with attractive dial.

Would love to hear from the members regarding price and condition or anything else that you see!

    Thanks and regards

Honestly for 340$ it's a nice daily Watch that you can beat around and not worry about.

I see the two words "daily " and "beater"!

You are right though as it is nice to not worry too much about condition and just wear the hell out of it and enjoy!

I think it’s a very wearable watch - not one to baby, for sure. Does seller have proof of service? Unless they do, I would factor in a fresh service, or at least a once-over from a trusted watchmaker, into the cost.

I think it's an honest watch at a fair price.

    Hi Xxxx,

    nice to see you.

Sadly you didn't manage to meet me in person at Travemünde and didn't answer my according mails.

Being honest? I agree. Yes, being honest is very important.

Good reasons are always good reasons.

You should stick to the threads.

This thread here is about a watch.

Wherever you reappear here after... Time is not your friend, you just can't take a break and recreate yourself. I stick to that.

The watch has been changing hands between private omega enthusiasts. Now the latest owner is selling because...... he has his eye on another acquisition! Sounds familiar?:)

This watch had changed hands about ten times before I bought it. They all cried and wanted it back but it is too late.

FWIW: I am not surprised. And I think the praise for the OP watch has been getting a bit out of hand. A keeper this is not.
The only thing it has going for it in my eyes is the price. The lugs are extremely soft. I know, it is diffcult to get a gold capped 1470X with the correct/sharp chamfers, but still. The original shape of the case looks like this:

    14701-11.jpg

(I borrowed this pic from this old FS post.) Then the dial has been relumed in a particularly unattractive way, and there is the matter with the crown.
I would try to find a better example even if I had to pay around $500. Then, maybe, I would have a keeper.

    FWIW?
Your thoughts are worth a lot in the appraisal of this watch! Thank you so much. I didn't see that it is a relume. I'm looking for keepers so will pass even though the price is attractive.

    Thanks again everyone.

    Dear Respectable Members

Would any one be so kind as to confirm if Omega crystal PX5140 is the correct crystal for a Seamaster, cal. 562, case ref 14701. Many thanks.

Yes, but you should have started a new thread.
