·Hey guys, I have a Speedy Pro Hesalite that I wear every day except for when I go swimming or skiing. I wanted an Omega that was affordable, but would be more water resistant than the speedy and something that I wouldn’t worry about taking on ski trips, so I just purchased a quartz Seamaster 120m 2511.50. I have 30 days to return this and so far I’m super happy with the cosmetic condition of the watch, but I have a couple questions regarding the movement.
1) The seconds hand does not align with the seconds markers. I’ve attached some pictures of this misalignment but it can be up to almost half a second off on certain markers around the dial. Looking at some other images of this watch on Google tells me this is probably normal, but what are your thoughts on this? The watch does keep good time from what I can tell so far.
2) When pulling out the crown to position 2 (to set the date by jumping the hour hand) there are certain jumps between hours that feel more “sticky” than others. The resistance isn’t at all high to the point where I’m having trouble moving the hour hand, but it isn’t consistent when jumping between hours.
3) When pulling out the crown to position 3 to set the time, the hands move in the opposite direction that I’m used to (clockwise crown rotation is moving the hands counterclockwise, where on my Speedmaster, clockwise crown rotation moves the hands clockwise). There is also a good bit of slop in the crown when moving the crown from clockwise to counterclockwise and vice versa, before it engages and starts to move the hands.
Is all of this normal for the 120m? Apologies for my ignorance on this stuff, just want to make sure none of these things indicate any potential issues with the watch before I can no longer return it. Thanks so much!
