Hi guys!

I just bought this omega seamaster 120 ref 2501.20.

I opened the case and check for series number today and found the mismatch! i trusted the seller so did not ask for movement serial number check, now i found this.

Is this a frankenstein watch ?

I would assume it had the movement replaced at some time in the past. A good seller would have disclosed the numbers don’t match and if they didn’t know, would offer to take it back.

Yes. The serial number on the movement is this:

Serial number: 49586918
Article ref: 25012000

This is the white dial version. The serial number on the case is this:

Serial number: 49671067
Article ref: 25018000

This is the blue dial version. So someone has swapped the entire movement, dial, and hands into a case from another watch.
