I’m pretty sure the hands are re-lumed. Are there any other issues I don’t know about? I’ve read these are a pretty commonly fakes watch. This piece is in my possession so sorry for the IPhone pics. Lol

Very peculiar watch, I have very little eye training for these but my level is not enough, I think it's one for the experts: https://omegaforums.net/threads/my-...ers-what-to-look-for-and-what-to-avoid.38032/

My amateur guess would be:
- Fake caseback
- Original dial / hands
- Delumed dial
- Possibly relumed hands
- Original bezel

Don't know about the case since a side shot is needed for an easy tell

Edit: If something is too good to be true, I assume it's fake and move on, but maybe your caseback is too good

IIRC that is an Afgan Military marking on the back. Without an extract from Omega I'd be highly suspect.

I believe the originals had an offset Seamaster logo. Photo from the net.

Maybe a picture with the machine will help to see if it is a "franken" watch?

Added the movement serial puts it to 1969.

I agree that’s a peculiar watch. The dial and bezel appear to be correct but the caseback concerns me.

Some better pictures would help along with how long you’ve had it, where it’s from, the asking price if it’s for sale.

Also just bought it. It came from a dealer I’ve got several other pieces from in the Middle East. I paid $1500.

Well I’m 99% that’s a fake caseback. In fact it is a fake caseback.

The rest looks genuine. So either the fakers have got better at faking the dial and bezel or (more likely) the caseback on this was poor and during a restoration someone unwittingly added a replacement caseback that’s fake.

The case back and it’s symbol have been a quite a debatable issue, regarding it’s Afghan military provenance and not yet resolved as far as i’m concerned, i’ve never seen an archive extract to confirm any other watch claiming it’s issued to any of the Afghan military but i’m as eager as cheese on toast to see one
but the rest of it looks quite nice

Even without the additional stamp, the caseback looks fake.

E.g. pointed A’s, poor quality of seahorse engraving etc.
