Seamaster 120 Slipping Crown

Hi, I’m new to the Forum. I recently acquired a Seamaster 120 but the crown is slipping. If you really finesse it in the second to last position, you can set the time. You can still quick-set the date buy popping the crown all the way out repeatedly to click it through. I want to keep the watch correct if it can’t remain original and I’ve been told buy a watchmakers that the crown can’t be repaired, it would have to be replaced. Anyone have experience with this or advice on where to source a correct crown of that’s the case. Thanks
