Whilst browsing the net, I came across what I think is a Polaris SM 120. I quite like the look, however, as this is not really a mainstream model and sits somewhat between modern and vintage, I thought I'd ask a couple of questions. 1) As far as I can find out, the majority of these watches were quartz, this is described as a 1995 watch having an ETA 2892A2 movement. Possible? (no movement pictures) 2) I've looked on line and can't find another dial with exactly this wording, though if it does contain an Omega branded/altered ETA, it might fit the facts. 3) If genuine, what would you consider to be a fair value banding? Looks good but haven't seen the model before? One thing i do see is that the bracelet is very worn ? To much space between the links . Movement should be a chronometer ETA 2892. A 2500 coaxial .
Searching on the net i found a reference number on this watch And according to that article the reference is 368.0885 . This is the article http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=tree&th=1855383&start=0&rid=12189 Not exactly the same dial and inner bezel .But it looks like the same case? And the text on the dial is the same . And if i search on Boley on that reference number you can see that it has a 2892-2 movement . http://boley.de/en/referenz/omega/7738?search=368.0885
Look like the one i found? Same case and dial but have an other inner bezel than the OP watch Can't find anything with that number?
Certainly won't be a 2500, but could be an 1109, 1111, or 1120 depending on the age of the specific watch.
Found this on sold listings on Ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Omega-SEAMA...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
You are wrong. First the ETA equivalent would be a 2892A2, not "-2". Second, Omega does make changes to the 2892A2 when they use them. Sometimes they are subtle, sometimes not. Certainly the 1109 and 1111 are closer to the ETA 2892A2 than the 1120 is, but they don't give these movements different numbers just for the heck of it. Cheers, Al
