    Hi all,

I wanted to share a watch I just purchased and get some thoughts. It is a reference 105.005 Seamaster with cal 321 movement and 24 mil serial which would place it around 1966. The dial and case are in very nice condition and it came with its 1035 bracelet (dated 3/67) and number 6 endlinks.

To me, the watch looks nice and correct. The question I had is in regards to the lollipop chrono hand. There isn't much information about this reference that I could find and limited photos for comparison.

The chrono hand is definitely Tritium like the rest of the watch and glows/fades at the same rate as the other hands (See photos below). The length also appears to be correct.

Does anyone know if this reference ever fetured a lollipop chrono hand? Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

It didn’t. The second hand was added on at some point.

I’m inclined to agree. Apart from never having seen another, that hand seems quite out of place on that dial, at least to me.

Congrats! Also agree the lolli hand was likely added later. Have the end links been shaved down to 18mm?

Well the lollipop hand definitely looks odd... Pretty sure this one is not original on this watch even though I don't have proof.

Thanks for the comments. That's what I was thinking when I purchased. Luckily I kind of like how it looks so I can wear it while looking for a proper chrono hand.

Didn't even think about this! The bracelet and ELs came as a surprise bonus so I didn't give it much thought. They probably are since the lugs are 18 mm. I wasn't planning to keep either so I'll just probably run them as a no reserve eBay auction and give exact measurements in the description.

It is probably wrong for that reference but i really like how it looks with the Lollipop.

Well, since that's a 321, you may have a pretty valuable little hand on your hands, so to speak.

A replacement hand shouldn't be too hard to find.

That's the plan! If anyone reading this has a suitable replacement, shoot me a PM :)

It's possible! The dimensions of this look roughly similar to some of the lollipops I have seen on earlier Speedmasters. I'll have to get it off and measure to be sure.

If it's a tritium lolli then what watch can it be for?

Also the lugs are 18mm, so still an open question: Were the end links shaved down?

I saw, I still think it's worth a measure as they look very tight in place. Cross your fingers and hope that they didn't shave down the end links and they are 18.8mm like I think many 6 end links are.

Here are two shots of my 105.005.
No claim for correctness, but one can hope.

Is that lollipop the correct size for a Speedy of similar vintage? Other than not being painted white... Probably worth more than the rest of the watch and the bracelet combined

Great point. They were definitely very tight and I had trouble getting them off. They were also slightly bent from prior removal/placement attempts. I will need to get calipers since I can't get that kind of accuracy with a ruler :-(

I am not sure about what the right length would be. There was a thread on lolli lengths before (https://omegaforums.net/threads/321-speedmaster-lollipop-hand-length.72337/) with only one measurement example. The proportions on this one look similar, but I will need to get my watchmaker to remove if before I can compare. This will only happen once I find the correct chrono hand :)
