Had to take a trip to the doctor for an ear infection. I was being checked in by a medical assistant when I noticed he was wearing a Seamaster chrono. After I said "Nice Omega", he let me take a closer look at his watch. Turns out to be a 007 Seamaster but what was even more intriguing was the serial number being 0001/5007. Says the watch was purchased duty free in South Korea. I'm still new to Omega's let alone the 007's. So I don't even know if they made a 007 chrono or this is a fake. One thing I will say, if this was a legit 007 serial #0001, there is no way I would ever let it get this beat up...
There is something wrong with this picture. I don't want to make any bad judgements, but my gut is saying fake?
Your gut is very right. Obvious signs it's a fake besides the fact that Omega never made a watch like that. Lume pip on bezel is wrong. Serial number 1 appears on fakes for some reason. Planet Ocean without PO on the dial.
If I caught one of my medical assistants wearing a fake Omega, I'm not sure how I would react? Since they know me pretty well, I'm guessing they'd do it on purpose and then tell me "I wanted a real one but I need a raise first!" That would be a catch 22 for me...those sneaky bastards!
I'm not 100% positive about all planet oceans, but there are planet oceans without any POs on the dial. Here's the image from the omega website. But yeah, no comment about the watch in question.
