You are getting consistent feedback from many members that is responsive to the question you asked, "Is it worth about 400usd to upgrade to a more honest case?"

And in return, you just continue to insult the members. I can only assume that you wanted different opinions, and your response is to become defensive and lash out childishly.
I don't want different opinions. But having a bunch of late life men trying their hardest to make me feel bad about my watch is what's childish. I've been dealing watches for almost 10 years and this is probably the grumpiest set of replies I've ever seen on a forum. I simply reply sarcastically to sarcastic comments.

As a not-as-late-life man: The watch you have kinda looks like a dog's breakfast. I don't think it would be worth it to me to invest another $400 in it to improve what is already the least bad looking component.

I think that @Olpes has finally got the point that this message board is not a primer customarily dealing out advice to elementary school dealers looking for free advice!

The advice offered in this thread is instructive even if the OP can't seem to gain traction.

I haven’t commented yet and have read all the points raised.

Some collectors like the aged look so I can understand the fascination with the dial in the first place.

The case you have is stuffed and there won’t be enough meat to have it corrected via sanding and polishing, it just won’t look right. A new case is in order to make the watch what it should be.

On the flip side, I understand where the rest of the guys are coming from. Spending a considerable amount on a case to make the watch look better is admirable, but you will run at a significant loss should you want to get out of the watch.

As far as what you should do, only you can say. Good luck with it and I hope whichever what you go, you are able to enjoy what you have.

Only in comparison to a flower or blade of grass, compared to a tree or a mountain you haven’t been born yet 🤣🤣
