Hello all, Although I travelled in excess of 8,000 Kms during the last two weeks, only a few things caught my eye. My travels brought me to usual places in Pennsylvania but I did find my way into West Virginia and Ohio. So all in all a quiet couple of weeks. I managed to snap these, hopefully interesting pictures, from behind the Dirty Windshield. I hope you enjoy. Since I've started, many routes have become routine. Familiar. The changing weather make many familiar places interesting and beautiful. Some odd encouters... Drivers wanted. Apply within! Must like "Chalottes" An interesting load I picked up in Bolivar OH. Cryogenic tank. I'll be able to claim I saw the Good Year blimp once in my life on my way back home, driving through Akron OH. Capped off the week with a little fishing. Managed to hook on to a nice rainbow trout! Cheers
I think that is a Credible Sport C-130 Fuselage, possibly the one from Robins AFB. Very Rare Sight! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Credible_Sport
That C-130 has been garnering a lot of attention, read about it a few weeks ago. Wonder what they're doing with it https://foxtrotalpha.jalopnik.com/i-guess-this-is-how-you-fit-a-c-130-in-a-parking-lot-1827304608
I figure the rest of the plane, wings and all, went on another truck? Damn almost made the paper! I guess my load of steel rods wasn't interesting enough to be photographed..
Always entertaining and well done Faz. "Since I've started, many routes have become routine. Familiar. The changing weather make many familiar places interesting and beautiful." Since you've settled into a routine on some routes, I wonder if you could find some interesting views that could be photographed each and every time you pass by. Could be interesting to see them in different light, weather, and seasons or just as time marches on.
Living vicariously through your pictures. Haha. Never been to the US, hope to go there some day. (wife absolutely hates long flights)
Great photos.....thanks for reminding us to "stop and smell the roses"....safe travels, keep the shiny side up.
Scenes from the Dirty Windshield remote Northern Territory Australia ( day in a remote office a while back ) My transport for the day ( waiting for the pilot ) Just make out the two boats below awaiting Swap the plane pilot for the pilot boat. One at the wharf is a lot easier to climb onto Heading home Back looking out the office door
See some country and have been doing it for years. But thanks for the inspiration to take a few pictures more often
My heart stopped when I saw your reply. I wish I could start my life over and get my wings. There are a few here that fly and I'm so envious and happy for all of you who can do this. Simply beautiful!
The pilot of the above plane looked about 15-16 ( he was 21-22 ) and was just starting his career. Moved to Northern Australia to get his hours up flying small planes. Funny as I’m a tall big guy and he’s first question to me was “ what do you weigh “ I fired back “how old are you “
[QUOTE="STANDY, post: 1280042, member: 2561" Funny as I’m a tall big guy and he’s first question to me was “ what do you weigh “ I fired back “how old are you “[/QUOTE] Next time if you want to make it back with fuel in the tank you might just want to tell him--fuel range is based on payload weight....
