lots and lots of different ways.
Do an OmegaForum search for "scam".

The best way to avoid them is to pay very close attention to anything "funny" or out of the ordinary a seller may offer you.

Did you even read the sales post?

Personal collection with cash payment is expressly preferred, insured shipping with INTEX (value transport) is free within Germany.
I only accept cash on collection and bank transfer, but no PayPal (NO PayPal) and no other payment options.

To OP @Connies, have you reported it to ebay?

Yes I did, no reaction yet. Also the scammer did not react on my request.
Pictures are stolen from an ebay- offer, 1 1/2 year ago

How does "cash on collection" work if he doesn't have the watch? This is also a good example of why it is good practice to blur serial numbers when posting pics online.

I think "cash on collection" is simply a head fake: he's betting that 99% of the potential buyer pool are probably nowhere near him (or his supposed location), and so will pursue an online transaction.

Perhaps.....someone should call his bluff and tell him they will do a F2F transaction at his asking price.

Why would the scam NOT work with blurred serial?
