Hi all,

Just wanted to warn everyone of a very close call.

I'd recently put a WTB for some 575 endlinks. Last week I received an email saying I had a message from Scott78 letting me know that someone he was dealing with was looking to sell some.

He included the person's email address . I've attached screenshot of email below

First mistake , when I went to my message page it wasn't there , that should have been first red flag, so I went back to email to get address and sent an email enquiring about end links.

Received a quick reply and entered dialogue, was slightly weird that email was mikescott but reply was signed off - scott but maybe that was middle name they used normally.

Anyway, they sent picture which looked good and price seemed ok. It all starting to ring alarm bells when I mentioned paying by Paypal .

They quickly replied saying to pay with no fee, nor address so they could access money quickly and the Paypal name seemed against odds with who I thought I was dealing with.

Sent email, saying I was not going through with deal as I'd prefer to deal with someone in UK. They quickly replied asking what problem was . Obvious now it was a scam, so told them I was under police investigation and having to delete all my contacts and suggested they deleted theirs ;-)

Have now blocked them. Very close call

Just a warning to everyone .

".. kindly make payment.."

Tons of red flags. Anytime someone uses "kindly", it's about as legit as the watch your uncle gave you.
