SCAM Warning: Fake PM notification emails pretending to be from OF

Some users are reporting that scam emails are being sent to them trying to look like an Omegaforums PM notification.

Do not click on these, they are fraudulent and are a targeted spear phishing attempt to steal your Omegaforums login details so the scammer can try to sell watches as you on this site and rip people off.

They have a fake site that looks like this, only ever type your login details after typing Omegaforums.net into the browser yourself and ensuring you are on the real site.

I guess high profile members are the main target. I should be safe then

Thanks for the warning anyway

Mate they're missing out if they didn't try to scam you, you're 100% worth it

Guess I’m safe since I only buy watches and never sell them. So if you see an ad for a rare speedy under my username it ain’t me. 😁
Thanks for the heads up.

If there isn’t the requisite amount of sarcasm in my PM, then you know it’s a stolen account. And don’t forget, the password is Snorkel ::psy::

666 foot rating, so it's good for the occasional hand-washing but nothing more...

Guys, I know this thread has taken a lighthearted turn but this is organised, targeted phishing. If these criminals get access to your OF account it's not just that they'll be able to post fake For Sale ads, it means they can probably lift your home address from your PM's and pay you a visit. Activate TFA now.

I haven't received one of these emails, but it sounds like a good reason to use a password manager that recognises the url, rather than typing in your password manually.
