Yesterday I was to Bain de lavey in Switzerland. The country were my watch is born I didn't wear my sub because between sauna (85 degré) and hamman (45 degré and 100% humidity) and don't sure it's good (for my body yes but the mecanic). It's waterproof at 300 meters but the temperature difference (85 degré sauna and after cold water 10 degré ) What is your opinion?
Rolex boys have done this one to death...... Unbreakable ( even got a Everest summit weather report ) http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=43784 And WUS think it's kyrptonite for watches ( got to read Seiko-lickers post on the first page ) http://forums.watchuseek.com/f2/do-...se-steam-soap-will-damage-seals-728059-3.html
Those advice signs... about not wearing jewellery and watches in the sauna/steam room... those are mostly for your safety... really hot metal doesn't exactly go well with skin.
My opinion is if members repeatedly post these same STUPID thread topics they should be run off with torches and pitchforks. Strike one for you. Hey, you asked for opinions so you got'em pal.
Man, with weather like that, it amazing that a any Rolex has survived in the tropics... Hell, the weather you just described is any summer day here in the South!
It depends on when the last helium top up was. If the watch was serviced recently and the helium was topped up, you should be fine.
Don't forget to mention the HRR (helium retention ring). If the HRR isn't properly greased, the seal could be compromised.
The problem is the difference in less than 1 minute, I don't think this is good for precision mechanical. My question is OK for the censor ulackfocus and tyrantlizardrex
Isn't that how you get a tropical dial? Bring your watch to tropics???[emoji12] Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk
Personally, I'm with @Solexelos. It is these sort of doubts with the quality of rolexes that meant an Omega was chosen by NASA. The change in temperature is MUCH greater in space, and in a much shorter time period, and Omega cruised through that test. Perhaps it's time to sell the sub?
