Hey Dennis, Kyle, do you have your collection strapped down and ready for those sustained winds coming your way?
As soon as I get home from work I'm moving watches off the winder and out of whatever boxes I have them in to the safe. Wanna know what sucks? I reserved a vacation day on Wednesday thinking I'd have my usual Monday & Tuesday plus Wednesday to do some striped bass fishing, especially with the full moon making the tides the best for catching them. Now I'll be sitting inside dreaming of fishing, and maybe tying rigs.
We don't have classy things like verandahs in Joizey. We got porches and decks..... off which I might end up fishing.
Year and a half ago when Brisbane flooded, the water came up to just below the second floor of this Lexus dealership at the bottom of my street, there were blokes having a beer and sitting on the hood and roof of those brand new Lexus's you can see in the background of this first picture, fishing for catfish off that balcony in the water below. It came about abouter 5 feet higher than it is in this picture:
Well I just got back from the Antilles, (GTMO) and Sandy hit the base dead center at 105MPH. My first hurricane not out to sea on a ship LOL They do tend to mess things up and readjust schedules. If it mixes with a cold weather front that will indeed be bad, what they call the perfect storm. Batten down the hatches...
True. My town actually called me this morning (woke me up) cautioning what I should do to prepare for Sandy, and even told me where to go in the event of an evacuation. Fortunately I just had the home security system linked to a monitoring service last week.
Yea but you can't fish in an earthquake... the resulting tsunami perhaps... stand in a low laying area with a net and see what jumps in.
Looks like we will get hammered here in Maryland. Good thing I've got a fridge full of food and another fridge full of beer.
crap, I spent three days looking for a freaking power generator w/o luck....gave up on Sat and decided to special order one from Sears but will not arrive until the end of the week.
