Wondering if anyone could help me out with these. Looking for a second Omega and tentatively looking now.

There is a guy on eBay selling vintage Omegas watches very frequently which have caught my eye and I would love to know people's thoughts, before I get tempted into buying a dud.

I would not trust him, a lot of similar refinished dials. Some probable put together watches.

They all look like "Mumbai Specials" to me.

Why do redials always catch the eye of a n00b? I think we need some government funding to study this. Clean & shiny + naivety can't be the only reasons.

Those were exactly my reasons. When I bought my first vintage Omega, I had no idea that dials were something that were faked and that I needed to be careful. It never even entered my mind. I knew watches as a whole were faked so I paid attention to the movement picture, and it was clean and shiny! The weird endlinks did ring minor alarm bells but I loved the rest of the bracelet too much to say no and after all the seller said it was genuine Omega.

    Thanks for the advice.

Clean and tidy and well presented - yes I am easily pleased

One thing I really struggle to recognise is a redial - I own a Geneve bought from here and I can't recognise that the above are redials.

Study each model by looking at the same dial on one model. Most look at several types of seamasters and it does not help as much as researching the one model for a while. Then the picture becomes clearer and you will start to spot other model redials soon enough

The score on the feedbacks is not particularly strong.

If anyone new wants to try out spotting skills this eBay sellers site is quite good, he is upfront with redials but look at the images first and then read the description and see how you do, usually a couple of Omegas on offer.
