    Hello all,

Would like your opinion on if this movement is salvageable? Approximate costs would be appreciated as well.

Most of that looks like dirt and grease - I've not looked at too many cal 321's but there doesn't appear to be anything missing.

    Does it run?

Service cost will depend very much on where you are in the world, and who you want to do the work... and whether anything is broken that's not immediately obvious from one picture. ;)

50% chance that it is salvageable and estimate cost in the 1$-3000$ range.

My guess is that you will probably need to have it inspected by a professional to get a useful opinion :)

I think I disagree that most of that is dirt and grease...

There is plenty of corrosion there, and with many parts for this caliber being NLA, it could be a very expensive repair.

Without really fully disassembling the watch, cleaning the parts, and carefully inspecting each one for damage, it would be impossible to give an accurate number just by a photo.

    Cheers, Al

    Thanks Al,
So 321 parts are hard to find ? Would bienne have them ? And finally just curious to know whether corrosion / rust can really be completely removed during service ? Thanks in advance !

Bienne will have the parts, but then again sending it there is not considered to be the best option for other reasons...

Some parts are not sold by Omega, and some are. The list of parts they don't sell is quite long, so for those you would have to rely on the secondary market, or obtain through donor watches. That can add up fast.

It would depend on what you mean by "completely removed." On some parts the rust can be removed and it won't affect the function of the part, since it's not on a functional surface. On some parts it won't be possible to just clean up the rust and use the part again as is.

    Cheers, Al
