Yesterday I was walking in a fleamarket in Mexico city and I saw a tiny watch in a box full with other stuffs (photos, little rusty toys, buttons). It was a Connie .I was shocked when I asked the price (50 USD). I gave him my money immediatly and took the watch and a little robot too.
Both have marks of rust, specially, the connie have the 4 o clock marker with rust. I have a question. Clean the watch or leave it in this conditions? Kind regards

I would definitely leave all cosmetic parts as is - the dial is nice IMO and the case should not be polished. Get it serviced and I’m sure movement parts will require replacing. Do you have photos of the case back and movement?

Watch looks great. Keep it as it is, servicing of the Movement should be enough.

Superb find for $50! It looks like a 14393. I'd be looking to source some correct length hands, those look like they may be for a dome dial.

A great buy for that small outlay! With a dial in that condition, forget about the premium black dials normally command - but don't let that spoil the party ;)

    Great case, original crown... Lovely.

Agree with the prior comments with following comments.

    1. I’d consider trying to find hands from an older watch even though it would be easier to get new ones from a parts house. New hands will look out of place with that dial. Otherwise, perhaps leave them alone.

    2. Get new signed Omega crystal. Money well spent.

    3. See if watchmaker can carefully remove rust from markers and dial if possible. Even if you lose a tiny bit of paint it will be worth it. Rust will spread over time and create issues later.

    4. Don’t polish the case, but at least get it cleaned when the movement is serviced. Have any rust issues addressed also.

You have the bargain of the month.

Hi, I can't open it. I'll send you with my watchmaker to send you the photos. Maybe they came in the same boat from Europe some years ago.

Thanks for your advices. I'll check with my watchmaker to remove the rust gently. I'll begin the search for the hands and the crystal too .

Send me the exact lengths of both hands, min. and hour. Might have vintage ones. We stop servicing Connie's here and sell all parts soon. Kind regards. Achim
