You may have seen that RC had a big auction that he marketed as "The Art of Divorce" or some such. It included a number of watches, but perhaps one of particular interest here is a mid '40s bumper movement Omega in gold. Apparently this was gifted to Crowe by Meg Ryan when they dated. I'm not a gossip page reader so I don't really care about this stuff, but it's a nice looking watch so I was curious what it went for and went through his Facebook video of the auction to take a look. <gulp> $10,000. Not sure if those are USD or Aussie dollars but that's a large premium for it's celebrity lineage either way. https://www.sothebysaustralia.com.au/lot/AU0822/215
With buyers premium AU $ 12200.00 Estimate $ 1500.00 - $ 2500.00 Must have been a big Crowe fan as Crowe included a signed letter with the watch.
Nice looking watch with sharp case. Ownership definitely fetched a premium though. I wonder if the second hand is replaced...looks short to me.
I think he wore this in Gladiator actually. He used one of those @Mad Dog Special watch protectors, see comparison below...
the first 2 grand was well spent, the next 10 was wasted. I just don't understand why something previously owned by a moviestar should be worth such a premium, it's not like he's done anything for humanity.
What??? Seriously??? If he and the other 299 warriors had not held off that massive army, I shudder to think what 'humanity' would look like today...
That is just plain ignorant. Do you know how much influence the Roman empire has had on modern civilisation? He gave his life to stop it falling into the wrong hands.
These days he would not hold a sword, he would be throwing phones. Any damaged phones for sale at the auction?
I'm curious any forum members bid on the Russell Crowe Jock Strap? The brown leather boxer’s jockstrap from Cinderella Man was expected to attract $380 to $460 but sold for $5,300.
the moon landings were a cold war propaganda stunt. They weren't meant to benefit anybody other than to keep us from having a "red moon"... think if all that money had been spent on medical research... but that doesn't get anybody re-elected so its not going to happen. oh those damn "reds".
