"Run Rolex serial" - how to?

Sometimes people over the forums say "I have run the serial and watch is genuine".
I couldn't find any Rolex website to check the serials. How does it work, one has to have an account at Rolex, like Omega?

I never checked Omega, but watchmakers with Omega account can do that.

There are many lists of Rolex serial numbers available online, all you have to do it google it. There is some variation between lists and none can be guaranteed to be exact.

Sorry, I should have mention that in OP - it is about the serials on ceramic models, so serial numbers are random.
