Hello!

I have an Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean
Ref.nr: 232.30.42.21.01.001

I consider buying a rubber strap for it, and I wonder what type I should get.

Curved or flat rubber strap?
Does anyone have any pictures?
Does anyone have the Omega ref.nr for rubber strap for Planet Ocean?

And does anyone know if rubber straps for Seamaster 300m would fit the Planet Ocean?

Thanks 😀

According to Omega your reference 232.30.42.21.01.001 uses a 20mm strap, so any 20 mm rubber strap and (even possibly 21 mm rubber straps- I would like someone to chime in if they are squeezable) should fit without issue. That gives you a lot of options. From what I understand you can even swap buckles to match in some cases at your OB/AD.

In terms of what style you should go for, that is very much totally your call. I really like the rubber straps with the double ridge look like this. I spoke to a redditor recently who purchased one of these straps for a Seamaster 300 heritage and have the Buckle replaced with a polished Omega buckle. This strap is 21mm so would be a tiny bit of squeeze for you and there are tons of 20 mm strap options, so I'm not recommending you do this, just sharing it to demonstrate that the sky is the limit!

Edit for clarity: I'm actually not certain that a 21 mm rubber strap will be able to squeeze into a 20 mm lug on every occasion, it would depend upon how stiff the rubber is and I would like somebody to chime in on that because I don't want to mislead.
EDIT to add: from what I've read, most rubber straps should easily squeeze this much, but given how common 20mm lugs are, probably not going to be a consideration.

The curved one will fit better on your wrist. I will go with that one.

Flat rubber straps can be "boiled" to a curve. Put the strap in a round container (aka glass) with the desired curve (diameter) and pour hot water over it, let it sit for a wile to cool.

The citizen rubber strap under have had this treatment, and became much more comfortable.

@jwold have you considered Hirsch straps, Tropical straps, or Artem?

Yo, you might want to contact them. In the description I note that it has an insert so that the strap is fitted directly to the case so there is no gap. If this strap is custom size for the ceramic diver there is a chance it may not be a universal fit with your planet ocean. That's worth contacting them over, or seeking additional information from more knowledgeable members here.

Yo @jwold when you have a free second, would you mind sharing a few pics of the underside of the strap?

Thought it was odd that the product description specifically says it doesn’t fit the 8500 caliber planet ocean which is the one you (and I) have. Assuming fit is good?? Wonder why they wouldn’t change the description.

What is everyone's opinion of these straight stap ends versus the curved or fitted lug ends that integrate with the watch more? Is that a big deal or no?
