All parts from before 1900, so we’ll call that one used as well.
I'd call them used too.Although I only have 1 pre 1900 pocket watch.

Oddly enough, the hands were NOS.

He movement is 131 years old.

The case and the dial a bit older.

There is a place for new watch. Vintage are not weather or water proof. 1/3 were purchased new. The rest are vintage.

1. Roughly what percentage of your watch collection was purchased new?

2. Roughly what percentage of your non-vintage watch collection was purchased new?

3. Roughly what percentage of your watch collection is vintage?

1. 100%
2. 100%
3. 0%

I'm basing the answers to questions 2 and 3 on the assumption my pieces are not vintage (I've seen varying definitions of it)... my oldest piece is a 2531.80, purchased new in 2005 but that particular model had been around since well before that - 1993, I think. So we're talking 26 years at this point. I don't know if that's vintage. Still seems like a modern Seamaster to me, so I'm assuming not vintage for my answers.

On the topic of pre-owned vs. new - nothing wrong with pre-owned, I would just prefer to buy new (not saying full price per se, but new). There are several models I missed out on over the years though so I'll be looking out for nice pre-owned examples now.

Having a hard time deciding where to include "not modern but not always accepted as vintage" and "modern but look vintage".

Two of the definitely vintage (now) were purchased new.

A few new
1 not new non vintage
A lot vintage

Echo that... Although I do have to admit that the category 'new' is on the rise (up to two years ago, that category was at 0).

I don't know the percentage as I don't have any idea how many watches I own but...

I bought 7 new from Omega and still own 5 of those, mostly LE Speedmasters

Most of them are watches that would have cost more to buy used than new though like the Speedy Tuesday etc, or the Apollo 8 Darkside that was really hard to get initially.

Most of my collections are vintage watches, except a Zelos Swordfish that I bought new as a gym/pool beater

One Omega new

50% vintage
50% modern

I'm all in with Omega. But also own a micro brand and vintage JLC.

The above represent the watches I plan to keep. I have 6 watches I'm going sell, those are not included in my stats.
