I didn't think there were rose gold 2852 / 2853. 2. I thought the hour and minute hands should be solid, not with a line in the middle. 3. The buckle is yellow gold. 4. Is this really rose gold?! Any other thoughts on this one?
1. Why would not think that there was a rose gold version? 2. I'm not an expert on the model, but the hands look OK to me 3. After-market buckle, so the color is irrelevant to the originality of the watch 4. Unless there was fraudulent and intentional post-processing done (highly unlikely), it certainly is rose gold
Does the star look a but crooked in the eBay photos? Also, are some of the minute marks a little thicker than others?
Also gonna say that I believe the word Automatic should not be larger than Chronometer on the second line of text. Look at the difference between the eBay listing and the photo you posted in this thread. At the very least I believe this is a redial.
There are lume dots at the end of some hour markers so there should be lume insert on the hands. Those small pictures do not show anything to say the dial is not original. Bigger pictures with more details may show differently though.
I'm not sure about that. The dial on the subject watch has markers that are sometimes associated with lume dots, and that, in turn, can be associated with lume filled hands.
I realize the auction is over, but I would appreciate your thoughts on this watch: http://www.ebay.com/itm/291793464085?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:ITPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Cal. 501 is correct for this reference per OVD.
If the dial is confirmed to be repainted and hands to be wrong (better pics will be needed) ...it looks quite expensive...
This Constellation looks like a nice piece...uncommon scripts on dial and looks original to me. If I saw it I would have been bidding...
I don't belive dial to be redialed. I have seen several with this same format. Also the hands appear correct...
Here are 2 photos of same dial configuration? Cross hairs intersect the m, o, and y at same location as item in the auction
Huh, who would have thought. I always assumed that the Constellations with the odd font height were redials...
