Im no expert, but from the original dials posted on here this looks redialed. The inked makers look too far from the edge.

    Yes the dial is refinished.

The AUTOMATIC CHRONOMETER OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED is missing. The Constellation isn't so hard to redo because that was a shallow engraving (IIRC) on the dial that just needs to be filled with the right amount of ink.

1st, I know very little about the 'luxe.
But always be ware of what the seller doesn't show you.
Conventiently, "because of light problems" the pictures are
dim as hell and he has a camera that will do at least 1600x1200
and he takes the pictures from a mile away. That should make
your warning light go on. Can't see if there is SWISS MADE at 6.
Conveniently. To me print looks thick compared to what I have
on my hardisk. Looks like the 21 minute marker is completely
missing. And in one sentence he talks like a savy seller, ...
you know how rare rose gold..., ...only 1 auction on this watch..., then
he plays dumb about it, .....If any of you collectors have more accurate
information, I would love to hear from you. Puleeze!

If the dial was original, the watch would already be long gone...

This dial is obviously refinished, and does not require a complex analysis; there appears no descent. However I thought I would provide a better facsimile of the watch. Of note, the dial color appears more likely painted then natural gold.

Thats why the pics are dimly lit with a capable camera.
Where's that 21 minute mark? ha!

I realise this is a redial, but given the cost of a replacement dial scavanged from a non hooded deluxe or grand luxe, isn't it still a viable restoration prospect at 9.5K for a rose gold grand luxe case and bracelet?

You could buy a deluxe non stepped in rose gold with a bad or heavily polished case, swap the dials over, and have a clean non stepped grand luxe in rose gold, then flip the RG deluxe case with the redial for at least probably... 1500-2000 or so...

Won't work since the grand luxe models only came with the stepped piepan dials - to use a non-stepped piepan dial in a grand luxe case would flag it as an obvious franken.

Sorry, I should have said stepped, I meant the Deluxe as in the non-hooded case, just a regular case but with a stepped dial, I realise they're uncommon too but they're around

How long will you have to wait for a dial or how much will you lose buying another watch and swopping dials?

The ONLY way you buy a watch like this is if you get it for scrap value or just over. Then you decide if you want to wait it out for the correct dial to come up or a watch that has the correct dial, then swap out dials to make this GL correct. Then you sell the icky one and if you get scrap you come out ahead.

Remember: the dial of a watch like this is 30 - 40% of the value.

Not uncommon - rare. Have not seen a rose gold deluxe with a stepped dial for sale in 5 years. Even the rose gold deluxe with a nice non-stepped dial is very uncommon.

From the back the head looks Rose, not sure about the bracelet. Could all very well be RG, but with the photos posted you can't be sure until you buy it.

I think it's rose - the crown is yg and it stands out as wrong with a different hue.
