Hi guys, I have for sale a 1.4 serial Rolex Submariner 5513 "Bart Simpson" gilt dial in very conditions, with a strong case and original lume. Serial dates back to 1966 and I got this watch from a collector friend of mine. The watch is original in every parts and runs well keeping good time. The watch features a ‘Bart Simpson’ gilt dial in original and glossy condition. These examples, made predominantly in 1966, are so named because they featured a considerably more short and stout version of the coronet that resembles the outline of Bart Simpson’s head. Rolex discontinued the gilt dial on the 5513 in 1967, so that makes Bart Simpson dials somewhat of a transitional reference within a reference. CASE: The case is even and thick, lightly polished. Serial and reference number are fully visible. Original 5513 caseback, correctly stamped 66. BEZEL INSERT: Original Rolex "Long 5" insert in mint conditions with a beautiful brownish/grey fade. DIAL: The dial is an original "meter first" gilt (gold) printing "Bart Simpson" with a warm tan patina even on all plots. Dial shows some aging, but all lettering is clearly visible and correct. The hands are tritium and match perfectly to the dial. Tritium is original and was checked with UVA light. The aging of the lacquer gives the watch a great natural vintage look and the patina beautifully matches the gilt writing. BRACELET: The bracelet is the original 7206 with 80 endings in good conditions stamped 66. MOVEMENT: Correct 1520 caliber running well. The movement was serviced 4 years according to the previous owner. Asking 20000 Euro, insured shipping included. I am not interested in any trade and I have no room for negotiation on the price.
