    Hi OF members

I decided to wear my GMT Master 16700 yesterday as it doesn't get enough wrist time if I'm being honest. When I was setting date and time the hour hand failed to move. I'm therefore going to get the watch looked at and serviced at the same time (not sure when it was last serviced). I'm based near London so may take it to Rolex St James's but would welcome any other UK recommendations for servicing from members of the forum.

Here's a pic of my watch.

    Many thanks!

Your GMT Master is not a GMT Master II. I am not aware that the hour hand on your GMT Master is individually settable as it is on the GMT Master II. If you still have your owner's manual, you might check that feature out. If I am wrong, i am most certainly going to hear about it!

That’s right - the 16700 I believe has a quick date set in place of the jumping hour hand.

I think the op may have been saying that his hour hand failed to move at all however. That being the case and you being in London I’d suggest RSC for an overhaul. It’s a lovely watch so deserves a decent service perhaps....

That's correct, it fails to move at all! I've decided to take it to Rolex in St James's rather than looking elsewhere. Many thanks .
