Rolex Service Reccomendations in Chicagoland and Factory.

Greetings....watch nerd discussion at the beach today. A fellow sailor has circa late 1970’s Sub and GMT Master bought new .... he hates my favorite watchmaker. (I’d not heasitate to have my watches serviced there but he had a bad experience 4 years ago.)

Two questions ...
Who in Chicagoland or US in general is good with vintage Rolex?

Does Rolex have a factory program for movement only vintage service?

Treiber and Straud in Milwaukee is an AD with in house watchmakers that have a great reputation. Plus they are about as close to Chicago as you can get.

The Independent Watch Service Center in San Francisco, owner is Giovanni Passalacqua. This was formerly the Rolex Service Center of SF. He can definitely do a sympathetic service on vintage Rolex watches. It is necessary to tell him what is wanted like dealing with any watchmaker.
